Relieving a toothache with a home remedy.

A toothache is one ailment that can make your life miserable. A toothache is generally caused when tooth decay invades or is about to infect the pulp chamber, which contains nerve endings and tiny blood vessels.

Although, there are many over-the-counter toothache cures, they all have some side effects. Today, toothache home remedies are becoming quite popular.

Home remedies for toothache
The best home remedy is to take good care of your teeth! So, always rinse your mouth regularly and generally follow good oral hygiene.  However, if you do get a toothache, opt for toothache pain home remedy instead of over-the-counter medication, since they’re safe and effective. Let’s see what they are:

1. Ice massage the hand:
Gently rubbing an ice cube in the area between the forefinger and the thumb for several minutes is an effective toothache remedy, as it eases toothache.  It acts by overwhelming the pain impulses that usually travel along the nerve pathways.  It has a 60 to 90% success rate.  Ice placed directly on a throbbing tooth also helps ease the pain.

If you have a throbbing tooth ache, try this.  Get a bowl of water big enough for your hand, and fill it half with water and 2 handfulls of ice.  Place the hand from the opposite side of the body from where the tooth is located, into the ice water.  In other words, if the tooth pain is on your left side place your right hand in the ice water.   With the other hand, gently massage the V-shaped area between the thumb and index finger while the hand is under water.
YES...it sounds strange. But, it works!

2. Toothache relief using cucumber:
Cut a good enough pieces to fit on the tooth that is hurting or any pain on the body and it will take the pain away.
P.S.: Remember to make sure that it is refrigerated it’s a better soothing feeling.

Place a little wad of dried peppermint leaves around the tooth or abscess, spit out after a few minutes.
If you repeat this several times during the day, it should bring the abscess to the surface, lance it with a pin and treat it again.  Rinse with warm salt water.
Oats will work to draw out an abscess, but peppermint relieves pain as well.
