Nature Manages Menopause
There are many reasons why you would turn to herbs and nutrients to combat the symptoms of menopause. The main reason is the cons of agressive drugs. I suggest that you explore alternative therapies that are, after all, the source of many traditional medications.
Cool down with cohosh. If hot flashes and mood swings are bothering you (most common symptom), black cohosh could be just the thing you need. The plant has an estrogen like effect and reduces the levels of a hormone that causes hot flashes.
Doctors in Germany often prescribe black cohost (you'll find it in capsules where supplements are sold)to treat PMS symptoms as well as anxiety, mild depression, and sweating in menopausal women.
Try St. John's Wort. Often recommended in ancient Greece for menstrual problems.
Use vitamin A. Dark green and yellow/orange vegetables are good sources.
Get plenty of vitamins B. Vitamins B2, B6, and B12 are water soluble vitamins your body flushes out daily. They help fight migraines, osteoporosis, depression in addition to keeping your heart healthy.
Make sure that you get lots of vitamin E. Vitamin E works like an antioxidant.
to keep cholesterol from damaging your arteries. Add E to your diet by eating nuts, seed, avocados, and canola oil.
Calcium. Calcium is important for strong bones - A MAJOR CONCERN DURING MENOPAUSE. Eat plenty of yogurt, cheese, spinach, sseds, and almonds.
